My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Locanda Del Parco Hotel. The staff was exceptional during our stay and helped us so much with any questions we asked about where to go locally and even connected us with my husband’s second cousin. Sarah, Sandro, and their father, Pietro, were so friendly and kind to us while staying at their hotel.||The hotel is a great location for mini-day trips: Gran Sasso National Park, San Gabriel Shrine, Rocca Calascio Castle, and several local towns.||The food was delicious. It was so good we ate all our dinners at their restaurant. Loved the pizza; they were great about recommending wine parings.||The view from the hotel of the Gran Sasso was beautiful. We also loved that the San Giorgio church was directly across the street and attended mass there.||We definitely plan to return as soon as we can.

The hotel is well located within the edge of the national park and within a 30-60 min drive to many hiking spots and picturesque villages. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit outdated, and we were promised (and paid for) a spacious bathroom with bath, but got a claustrophobic cubicle shower. We were too tired to complain and/or could not find anyone at the desk. Despite being one of the few guests at the hotel, somehow we were able to hear absolutely every noise in the corridor and neighbouring rooms. There is a busy bar on the ground level that gathers some rowdy groups, which makes it impossible to sleep before 11pm. Unfortunately, the nights at this place were not the high spot of our trip, but the region is absolutely gorgeous.

Fantastic view of the mountains - absolutely magical! The room was clean and large, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a good beer selection and the locally sourced meats were succulent and tender. The grilled sausage was particularly delicious, maybe the best I've ever had. A++ would stay again!

My grandfather was born in the nearby town of Colledara and I and my wife and daughter decided to visit his tomb. Plus I grew up visiting this part of Abruzzo when I was a child in the sixties and seventies, so it was a sentimental journey for me. The only laid back, quiet place near Colledara is the town of Ornano Grande and we found La Locanda del Parco. We were immediately impressed. The grounds were well kept and pretty. The owner checked us in and he was very pleasant....an ex worker for ENEL, the Italian electric company, who now was retired and running his own business. The room was....gorgeous. I can't explain it any other way. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, free wifi, nice TV, the bathroom was also very nice and clean. We had a private balcony overlooking the local church and we had a grand view of the Gran Sasso, the highest peak in the Appenines. Unfortunately, it was almost always cloudy, so we saw it rarely....The attached restaurant served great pizza (only at night) and has a great menu featuring local foods and ingredients. Breakfast was included and was simple but delicious. I will most definitely come back.

An excellent hotel in a beautiful setting with mountain views of Gran Sasso all around! The room was very big and clean and we had a hydro-massage bath which was a plus, and also a balcony with mountain view. All of the staff is very sweet and helpful! Free parking and a very good location by car as it's just off the highway. The restaurant serves delicious food especially pizza and pasta! Very affordable too. If we're ever in this area again I would definitely return!

Locanda del Parco, June 5 – June 8, 2018||I stayed here for three nights in June and I can’t say enough about how great thus place is. It is a family owned and run business that really does a great job. The rooms are simple but fairly large, well maintained and clean. The restaurant has many great selections, the food is freshly prepared and very good. I have a gluten allergy and they did a great job of accommodating me with this issue. They even took the time to make some special gluten free breads for the morning breakfast. I am hoping to return to this part of the country again, when I do I will be sure to stay here.

Excellent family run hotel in the countryside of Abruzzo surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains. Everything about La locanda del Parco was perfect from check in to departure. The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfast was good, the restaurant served some excellent pizzas and, judging by what was coming out to other tables, some truly "Grande" servings. We only stayed for 1 night but the whole family really made you feel welcome and it would have been nice to spend longer there to soak up the relaxed atmosphere and surroundings. The building itself doesn't appear to have its name in signs anywhere but, if you do all your homework prior to arriving, it is easy to locate. Thoroughly recommended.

From the moment we arrived at this family owned hotel and restaurant, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. Sandro greeted us and spent as much time as we needed explaining local points of interest and directions to them. Next he showed us our room, which was large and comfortable with a terrace overlooking the beautiful mountains of the Gran Sasso National Park (gorgeous!!). Also welcome in the room was Sky television with many channels in English and other languages.|| In the restaurant, mother Janina and daughter Sara prepare many homemade traditional and delicious dishes. With so many good things to choose from, they were very accomodating and allowed us to mix and match various things off the menu so we could enjoy a wide variety of the local cuisine.|| Father Pietro tends to all aspects of running a hotel and restaurant but is never too busy to join with others after dinner , along with Sandro, at the bar to enjoy a cafe or a digestive.|| The hotel is located in a small hamlet from which many locations are easily accessible. English speaking and plenty of free parking. This is a great hotel with great food , great views, great people. We stayed a week - would love to stay longer. Can't wait to return,
