Really enjoy coming up to this lodge, have been for many years. This year planning a trip was much different.
Manager was not willing to work with us around reservations. If I was the owner I would seriously consider someone else, no common sense. Missed out on $1100 dollars for cabin rentals.
Off to Waterhen we go!!
Update: Got in touch with the owner Dillon and cleared the air, maybe a misunderstanding maybe not but regardless the problem was solved and he was very understanding. Looking forward to coming up in the future.
Thank again Dillon.

What happened …. ?
I know Keeley got new owners. But who ever they hired for manager, Amy, is a far cry from being able to manage a place like this. Do NOT trust anything when you show up. No fuel, no food or beverage, no service. And you will find the manager fishing on the lake, not running a lodge. We had multiple people come to our room to ask if we had anything. Or know who’s running the place or how to find any answers. Because no one is ever around. Leaving notes on doors that she’ll be back. We’ve witnessed her on the lake more than at the lodge in a week. And she likes to use all the buildings as her party houses after hours. The garbages have not been taken out in a long time. We had piles by our room. Not just our room, but the majority of rooms were disgusting, not cleaned or cleaned properly. We had a few groups come to us to talk, they told us the manager was too lazy, busy, fishing…. Sleeping? Partying? To clean their rooms and gave them a smaller one they didn’t Ask for. A small bed and a mattress leaned up against the wall… And get this, the state the lodging is in, they upped the prices ? kind of a dump if you ask me. For a family that’s been using the lodge for over 40 years, what happened!? It’s embarrassing and a disgrace. Thank god the fishing is good. Or we’d never return.

Awesome place to fish for walleye. Tons of bites all sizes. Good fish eating too.

The lake was 5 star. The lodge needs some screens on the windows. It was a hot box.

Anyone who says the fishing sucks is a bad fisherman. We stayed 2 nights and pulled up over 100 fish. we spent a total of 6 hours in the boat.
Rooms need some love. The beds are very uncomfortable, although the fishing makes up for it.
Staff is friendly. We will see you again next year..

During the weekend of December 19th-20th, 6 friends and I traveled to Keeley Lake to enjoy the challenge of ice fishing. A friend had booked a room for 4, double bunks. Beyond that I had no expectations as to the quality of the lodge. Our shared wall unit came with a kitchen, small dining area in the kitchen, bathroom, with flush toilet and working shower. The bunks were metal framed and came complete with bedding. The heating source was a propane furnace which was quite effective. Kitchen utensils were supplied and all appliances worked. There was no cable TV or cell phone service but at times it's nice to be out of touch. Although basic in appearance, the facility is clean and the lodge gas a few surprises. Aside from a cafe, there is a bar that sells off-sales and there is a land line available should one need to call out. Service was quick and polite. Our collective opinion was that we would certainly return to use the lodge facilities that are reasonably priced ($115 for 4 at the time of writing). By the way, the fishing is great. If you are looking for a great experience north of Meadow Lake, check out Keeley Lake Lodge - it supplies the basics well!

This is what it is, a 1970's Lodge, you are sort of on your own for facilities. This is not fancy, no spa, no sauna etc. 30 miles of sand n very light gravel to get here. That said the folks here do an excellent job of helping, putting you on the fish, accommodating requests etc. we have been going here for 30 years and consistently find the fishing to be great. Again we keep going back because the staff are great, the fishing is great and we know what we will be getting.
